Description & Details
Abe Flores, the mastermind behind the super popular PDR 1878 Cubano Especiale, has taken full bodied cigars to a whole new level. A Flores Gran Reserva Robusto Corojo (5" x 52) is comprised of Nicaraguan Habano fillers, Dominican binder and a beautifully aged 2006 Dominican Corojo wrapper. Sometimes you want a bold cigar like this one. But sometimes you crave something more smooth-mannered. Buy this cigar along with a five pack of a different variety and pay a lot less for each pack. Buy up to four varieties and save even more on each. That kind of savings is sure to put you in a "5-Pack Fever."

I would not but these again.
Jul 14, 2019
All five of these cigars had a terrible burn. The wrappers all had large veins which cause an inconsistent burn and constant re-lighting.

Oct 07, 2017
This is a FANTASTIC CIGAR!!! Great flavor from start to finish.More full flavor than a medium. If you only smoke mild cigars you may not enjoy. These are full of flavor. A smooth draw.NOT HARSH AT ALL!!! I pair mine with my homemade DOPPEL BOCH in the evening. I HIDE THIS ONE FROM MY FRIENDS!!!

What a wonderful cigar
Feb 24, 2017
This cigar doesn't disappoint. I love full bodied cigars and, this is one but a very complex one at that. My ONLY wish is that these weren't so expensive.... If they were, I'd smoke them everyday and, I'd thumb my nose at almost everything else.

4/5 opus X
May 26, 2016
Strong and 'cedary'. It's the only cigar I've smoked that reminds me at all of an Opus X. And it's very nearly as good as an Opus.

Looking for Corojo? This is it...
May 16, 2016
This is a fairly robust Corojo that leans toward Maduro in flavor. I liked it a lot and will order it again.

Really A Horrible Smoke
Aug 24, 2015
Such an expensive price for really a bad smoke. After half way I gave up. When finished I had that cigar breath that one has when they chain smoke all day. Just a harsh almost nothing taste. I've had the Punch rare Corojo and this couldn't come close. Reminded me of the Te-amos I smoked as a kid (those tasted like rope). Sorry Abe!

Really enjoyed this expensive stick at discounted price. Flavors kept me and the guys chattering away about it for over an hour of great smoking.

Too strong for my tatse
Jul 15, 2015
First time smoking this cigar & I'm glad I only purchased a 5 pack. Not impressed with this cigar at all. Hard draw, never held a nice ash & too strong for my liking.

Dressed to Kill
Jan 28, 2015
Starts out with a bang, tons of powerful spice out of the wrapper, the wrapper is about as sexy as they come. This bad boy comes out swinging! Id say it even starts as a near full body spicy taste and just as impressively it gets remains nimble with its ultra silky characteristics it starts with and maintains throughout. about an inch in the spice has taken a minor role third to the silkiest earthy aromas even with ongoing sweet citrus notes. First ash fell at and 1.5+ inches. The aroma of the resting gem smells... expensive. It maintains a full body balanced taste with a mild silky finish through the finish. Lots of smoke. took on some leather tones for the second half. A must try, will definitely impress your friends as a suggestion and flatter as a gift. "I shall return"

horrible cigar
Jan 23, 2015
I guess taste is subjective. I am not an afficianado but I purchased this cigar as part of the Ultimate 90 plus sampler. My desire was to sample cigars to find that cigar which I can smoke with a nice cognac. This cigar, in my opinion, was so bad that I threw it out after 10 puffs. It never got better. An afficianado once told me that some cigars change the more into the cigar you go. I feel I gave it a chance but it was worse than a cheap $1 cigar. To each his own but it wasn't mine, truely disappointing to be included in the Sampler.

A.Flores Gran Reserva
Oct 17, 2014
I was disappointed since I ama big fan of the A.Flores Serie Privada SP-52. The quality of this brand is outstanding; however, it is quite expensive. The 5 pack special was a deal so I tried it.

Off-the-Radar Gem from the D.R.
Sep 10, 2014
I received this cigar in a combination pack from Thompson. As usual, the combo packs come with at least one shockingly good, and often under-hyped, smoke. This was the one from my most recent batch. The first thing I notice about any cigar is the nose. THE NOSE: Hold the body of the cigar to your nostrils before lighting and take a deep sniff. Like wine, the nose doesn't tell the whole story. (Some delicious-smelling smokes don't taste great when you light 'em.) But it can tell a lot. This cigar has a classic nose: a blend of caramel and cedar and old books, with a touch of honey. Some of my all-time favorite cigars (especially Nicaraguans, which I tend to prefer) feature a similar scent. It actually makes your mouth water. THE LIGHT: I lit mine with a single-flame Xicar. It proved an easy light, with a perfect draw (easy but with more than a feather of resistance). Again, I retested the nose... with heat. The cedar and caramel remained, but the fire brought out new espresso overtones. THE TASTE: Early taste is good. Hints of the cedar shine through, along with leather and a very, very light undertone of cantaloupe. However, the taste profile thins out quickly after the first couple draws. It settles into a pleasant but merely good flavor. As you smoke down, the corojo's powerful Cuban heritage comes through. She has a kick, somewhat similar to an Opus X. THE BURN: Here's where it gets a little tricky. I needed to relight after about an inch. That doesn't make me happy. Who likes relights? No one. The biggest strike against this cigar, I'd say. I also noticed a bit of running, although it evened out as I continued. THE ASH: The cigar produces a nice, light-grey ash. But it's a touch fragile for this ring gauge. CONCLUSION: Perfectly good smoke, and just worthy of the price. However, it didn't quite live up to the exceptional beginnings, which promised something worthy of the cover of Cigar Aficionado. Nonetheless, I'd rate it a solid 91.3. If you enjoy a strong smoke, like a Cuban or Nicaraguan, you may want to add this to your humidor.
