For A.J. Fernandez and his father Ismael, 2014 was the year of living fearlessly, as they teamed up to create their first cigar together: the New World Robusto (5 1/2" x 55). Hell-bent on making something truly remarkable, the duo started with Nicaraguan long fillers from Ometepe, Condega, and Esteli, bound it with leaves from Jalapa, and topped it off with a hearty Nicaraguan wrapper. Appropriately named New World for Christopher Columbus' 1492 expedition, the spectacular Nicaraguan puro offers well-balanced elements of sweetness and spice, and an amazing aroma. Cigar Journal named it "Cigar of the Year", but it may well be the cigar of a lifetime.
