I have had many different cigars from CAO, and I have always been pleased with my experience with them in the past. This box of La Traviata are no different; they are not necessarily the finest cigars, but they are excellent value for the money. There are some who believe that a cigar being "good value" means that it is low quality. That is not true at all. What is wonderful about the value is that one can enjoy these cigars on a regular basis without the guilt of having spent too much, or without the pressure to save them for a special occasion. These are certainly good enough to enjoy on a special occasion, but are also affordable enough to smoke every day. As for the actually smoking experience, you can expect voluminous smoke output and an excellent burn line from the La Traviata, which is common with the CAO brand as a whole. The most obvious flavor profile is a dry, nutty tobacco, but also some mushroom and some faint chocolate. The only issues I have with these sticks are some inconsistencies with the construction. On more than one of the cigars the wrapper cracked when cutting, which resulted in some unraveling that I had to deal with. Part of this problem could be that the cigars were not stored in a properly humidified area before shipment. In addition, the draw was a little bit too tight on a few of them. Not a big deal, but worth noting. All in all, these CAO La Traviata's are very good cigars, especially for the cost, and they deserve a place in your humidor.

Burns great, easy draw and very flavorful. A touch bitter but I like that in a cigar.

This cigar is an extraordinary buy with incredible quality and consistent construction . Medium bodied with a flawless draw almost every time . It burns evenly always . It finishes slightly harsh but can be corrected if you take an additional cut . I will continue to purchase this cigar again .

I bought a box of these because they were on sale and wasn't expecting them to be outstanding cigars. Haven't had a bad one yet. Very consistent burn. Even smoke volume. No stove piping even if not drawn frequently. Good taste and decent amount of nicotine. Nice contstruction. This is a nice, daily smoke to wind down after the workday.

CAO La Traviata Animado Habano Corona is as good a smoke as you can find. The wrapper was smooth and tight, once lit, the draw was spot on, not too hard and not too light, just the full pull a cigar should be. The burn was consistent throughout and the first held together perfectly down to the 1/4 inch nub. The taste was a mild pepper and spice (perhaps a light nutmeg?). Overall I found the CAO La Traviata Animado Habano Corona to be an exceptional value, smoking well above it's price.

Well made, no loose spots. The draw was perfect and burned evenly. The taste was pleasant, earthy with a nutty flavor and a hint of coffee. A very nice way to top off the day!

05/15/2018 | Back Yard | Tea Smell: Sweet woody tobacco. Cold draw: Sweet cedar and mocha latte. First Impression: Dry tobacco smoke makes my mouth dry. Retro-hale very spicy and pungent knocking my head and deep inside. Sweet cedar finish. 1/3: Spicy dies down a lot when retro-hale. Very thick cedar smoke, not dry smoke anymore. Tobacco woody sweetness, but a little bit harsh and white peppery. 2/3: A ltttle hint of citrus. Smoother than first 1/3 with a bit mocha. Sweet woodiness get stronger. 3/3: The cigar gets better from the end of 2/3 and begining of 3/3. The whole thing mellow down, sweetness kick in. A little creamy, not to much. Left watery mouth every draw with sweet woody finish. Conclusion: The cigar burns OK, not great. Had to use lighter to fix it 3 times, shouldn't had to with this ring gauge. Can build long ash, but it can easily to fall off if not careful. Medium amount of smoke, medium body. I got it around $2.00/stick, I give 4 stars based on this price. If it is around $10.00/stick, I will give it 3 stars.

Once highly acclaimed, La Traviata has been off the radar screen for several years as CAO has released some very good new smokes. So I ordered a box and can comfortably say it is one of the better CAO blends you can buy. Very earthy, spicy with notes of coffee and cocoa slipping in and out. Smoke output is above average and quite well constructed with zero touchups.
