I purchased this to use with my pipes for traveling. Its refillable, side light flame, soft flame, but when it ran low I drained the lighter and used premium Xicar Butane to refill. Once refilled it was not able to light. The lighter was "working" as when I used a lighter to light this one it would work. I did reach out for support but never received a response. Not worth the money

Have to try two or three times to get it to light. But it's a cheap lighter so I got what I paid for .

After filling the lighter the first time, it would not light no matter how it was adjusted. If I turn the flame all the way up and hold the button down, I can light it with a match, but the flame is way too small to use for anything. It has plenty of fluid in it, but refuses to light on its own at any setting.

This pipe lighter is a kind of cheap knockoff of the IM Corona Pipemaster. Since the Pipemaster will set you back at least $125, this is not bad for the price. It works. Like the Pipemaster, it has a pipe tamper in the base that you can extend part way and lock, though it doesn't extend very far, and the lock on mine broke on the second use. It's only about an inch long, so it's too short to use when you pull it out The tamper on a real Pipemaster is three times as long, locks securely, and has a pipe nail on the other end when you pull it all the way out. My main beef with this lighter, though, is how much muscle it takes to light it. They must have used a valve spring from a 58 Chevy Malibu in there. I guess that could be considered child-proofing, but it's no fun at all to light. If you need a pipe lighter and can't afford a really good one, this isn't bad, though I think the Zippo pipe lighter might be a better choice if you don't mind using lighter fluid.
