A cigar as remarkable as the story behind it. Named for Andy Garcia’s film ‘The Lost City” whose most memorable scene was filmed at Chateau de la Fuente, these limited edition cigars were crafted from the tobaccos specifically planted for the movie. Five years of careful aging netted a superb leaf with complex, sophisticated flavors and a truly unique character.

Bought several Opus X over the last couple years but had never smoked one until recently. I was always nervous that because of the hype I would either be disappointed due to the expense or, the opposite, I would have to have more. Needless to say they had been resting almost forgotten in the humidor for quite awhile. I stumbled across them the other day and decided it was as good a time as any, poured myself a single malt and indulged. Yup it was amazing, now the trick is to snag them when available. Luckily the fine people at Thompson Cigar had some! I may go broke but at least I know where to shop.

A great way to experience a number of different Opus X sizes/construction before committing to a 10-pack of any specific one. I also love this size for travel/vacation. Typically I will put these in my humidor for a couple of weeks + before smoking, but on occasion I have smoked directly from the box it ships in and the cigars have smoked well and have been really enjoyable right from the box.

I've tried Fuente's other expensive cigars , and like them better. I felt like I was smoking a regular $10 - $12 Fuente . Not an Opus X. Skip the "Lost City" line. Unless you like paying top price for an average cigar. Also, when pulling the bands off, the glue always ripped a hole in the wrapper.
