In the late 1800s, pipe makers Achille Savinelli and Ferdinando Rossi were competitors as well as friends. Rossi pioneered the production of briar pipes in Italy, and, prior to World War II, was the largest manufacturer of pipes in the world.
Savinelli Pipes, now run by fourth generation Giancarlo, pays homage to this old friendship by acquiring the Rossi name and focusing on quality, affordable pipes. Rossi by Savinelli Vittoria pipes are handmade from the finest Mediterranean briar, and are the manliest of ruggedly rusticated pipes.
